In Cardiff, United Kingdom, Denmark’s national team defeated Wales 1-0 in a Nations League Group A4 match. Rasmus Højlund scored the only goal from the penalty spot in the 75th minute, Sky Sports reports.
Ward’s mistake led to a penalty
The penalty was awarded after an error by Wales goalkeeper Danny Ward. He lost the ball in his own penalty area to Gustav Isaksen and then brought down the Danish forward while trying to rectify the situation. Højlund converted the penalty and secured victory for the visitors.
In the first half, Wales had more possession — 54% to 46% — but Denmark created more dangerous chances. Isaksen, Morten Hjulmand and Oliver Provstgaard had opportunities to open the scoring, but there were no goals before the break.

Denmark beat Wales for the second time
After the break, Ward saved Højlund’s shot with his feet and later tipped Isaksen’s header onto the post. Brennan Johnson fired over the bar, while Sorba Thomas’ cross, after deflecting off Lewis Koumas’ shoulder, ended up in the hands of Denmark goalkeeper Mads Hermansen.
Denmark defeated Wales for the second time in a short period: the team won 2-0 in Copenhagen the previous weekend. It was the third defeat in four Nations League matches for Craig Bellamy’s team. Despite the result, Wales moved up to third place in Group A4 after Norway’s defeat to Portugal. Ben Cabango received his second booking in this campaign and will miss the November match against Norway.
