Daryz, trained by Francis-Henri Graffard, won the Qatar Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe at ParisLongchamp racecourse for the second consecutive time. He became the first colt in almost 50 years to successfully defend the title in this race.
Historic repeat success
As Sky Sports reports, the last time a colt won the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in two consecutive seasons was in 1977 and 1978. At that time, Alleged defended the title; he was trained by Vincent O’Brien and ridden by Lester Piggott.

Race placings
Daryz was ridden by Mickael Barzalona. After he sent the horse forward for the decisive surge, the outcome of the race, according to the outlet, appeared inevitable.
Bay City Roller, trained by George Scott, finished second. Daryz had previously beaten this rival in the Prix Foy preparatory race, and they finished in the same order in the main event. Diamond Necklace, trained by Aidan O’Brien, finished third after starting from stall 16.
