In Leicester, England’s Luke Humphries and Wales’ Gerwyn Price reached the final of the World Grand Prix darts tournament. In the decisive match, to be held on Sunday evening, they will play for the title.
Humphries beats Wade
Second in the world rankings, Humphries defeated James Wade 5-3 in the semi-finals, BBC Sport reports. He posted an average of 96.92 and hit 10 maximum 180s. For the 31-year-old player, this is his fourth consecutive World Grand Prix final.
Humphries won the opening set, but Wade levelled the score by checking out a leg on 141. After they shared the next two sets, Humphries won two more to take a 4-2 lead. Wade reduced the deficit and kept the match in the balance, but Humphries finished the contest in the eighth set by hitting double 20.

Humphries won the World Grand Prix in 2023 but lost the two previous finals of the tournament. After the semi-final, he said he was aiming to win the trophy and that the match against Price could be spectacular if he produces the same level of play again.
Price beats Aspinall
In the other semi-final, Gerwyn Price beat Nathan Aspinall 5-2. The Welshman won the first three sets, while Aspinall was unable to repeat the form he showed in the quarter-finals, where his average against Ryan Joyce was 105.15.
Aspinall won one set with the highest checkout of the match, 132, and later cut the deficit to 3-2. Price then won two sets in a row to secure his place in the final. After the match, he said he was irritated by Aspinall’s behaviour on stage and his opponent’s interaction with the crowd at the Mattioli Arena.
