    More Orders, More Moving Parts

Holiday season is creeping closer, and apparently everyone has updates. UPS and FedEx are changing shipping costs, Walmart is discounting faster labels, eBay wants shoppers buying more, and BigCommerce is making backorders easier to understand. Plus, we’re digging into Inventory Events, spotlighting TeamCentral, sharing what’s new in Ordoro, and ending with a little customer love.

🚚 UPS Is Adding a Little Extra to the Holiday Bill

Holiday orders are great. Holiday surcharges, less so. UPS demand surcharges start September 27, with additional charges rolling in as peak season gets busier, so now is a good time to see what might be tagging along with your shipping costs.

🛍️ BigCommerce Is Taking the Mystery Out of Backorders

“Available for backorder” can leave shoppers with a few questions, starting with when exactly they’ll get their stuff. BigCommerce is giving merchants better ways to show backorder availability, quantities, and shipping expectations before customers hit Buy.

🛒 eBay Wants Shoppers to Add One More Thing

One item is nice. Two or three sounds even better. eBay’s new bundle discounts let sellers reward shoppers for buying multiple eligible items in the same order, giving merchants another way to make every checkout work a little harder.

🌎 FedEx Is Making International Shipping a Little Less Complicated

Duties, taxes, customs paperwork, surprise charges at delivery. International shipping has plenty of moving parts. FedEx’s new Global Trade Navigator aims to make some of them easier to understand, just as new international demand surcharge changes are arriving.

🚚 Walmart Is Putting Faster Shipping on Sale

Faster shipping sounds even better when the label costs less. Walmart is offering qualifying sellers up to 15% off eligible 3-day labels and 35% off eligible 2-day labels, giving some Marketplace sellers a welcome break heading into the holiday rush.

    🛠️ What’s New in Ordoro?

We’ve been busy behind the scenes again. Our latest round of updates brings more improvements to the tools and workflows Ordoro users rely on every day, because a few less clicks here and a smoother process there can add up pretty quickly.

    FEATURE HIGHLIGHT

See the History Behind Your Inventory.

When an inventory number does not look right, the current quantity is only part of the story.

Inventory Events gives you a detailed, SKU-level history of the activity behind your inventory totals. See what changed, when it happened, why it happened, and how the event affected stock.

    With Inventory Events, you can:

    • Review activity from shipments, Purchase Orders, returns, stocktakes, manufacturing, and manual adjustments
    • See the SKU, warehouse, event type, user, and reason behind a change
    • Understand how Physical on Hand, Available on Hand, Committed, and PO Reordered were affected
    • Investigate discrepancies with a clearer place to start

Recent improvements also make Purchase Order and Goods Receipt records more precise by connecting events only to the SKUs actually affected.

    PARTNER SPOTLIGHT

Growing eCommerce businesses often rely on more than one system to manage orders, inventory, fulfillment, warehouse activity, and other operational work. When those systems do not connect, teams may spend time moving data manually, updating spreadsheets, or entering the same information more than once.

That’s why we’re excited to spotlight TeamCentral, an AI enabled, no-code integration company that helps businesses connect software systems and keep data moving between them.

For Ordoro merchants, TeamCentral can help create connections with specialized warehouse systems, production software, internal databases, customer management tools, and other platforms that may not have a direct Ordoro integration.

Need Ordoro to connect with another system your business relies on? Learn how Ordoro + TeamCentral can support a more connected eCommerce workflow.

    CUSTOMER SHOUTOUT ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

One of our favorite things? Hearing that the people behind Ordoro matter just as much as the software.

“Rarely do I take time out to give Google reviews, so Ordoro really has deserved this 5 star rating! With the proper software tools being a must to manage an e-commerce business, finding the right partner and software that can meet your needs is one thing, but a supportive team brings an extra layer of importance to help navigate the space. Ordoro has done exactly that, with touchpoints throughout the whole process and assistance with account setup, they are not just a software provider, but a team that wants you to succeed. Please consider Ordoro if you’re on the fence, and even schedule a call just to learn more!”

Good software matters. Having real people there to help you get set up, answer questions, and cheer you on matters too. We’re pretty lucky to have a team that takes that part seriously. 💚

That’s a wrap for this edition of Commerce Corner. Holiday season is getting closer, carriers are adjusting costs, marketplaces are rolling out new ways to sell, and inventory still has to somehow know what’s going on everywhere. You know, the usual eCommerce calm. 😉

Until next time, may your inventory stay accurate, your shipping costs stay manageable, and your holiday orders be plentiful enough to keep things interesting.
