    ShipBob Summer 2026 Release

If you’ve ever wished your fulfillment platform could think ahead of you: anticipating order exceptions, automating decisions, and giving you real-time answers without digging through dashboards, then ShipBob’s Summer 2026 Release is for you.

This isn’t a routine update; it’s a step-change in how merchants interact with their fulfillment stack. From an AI agent that takes action on your behalf to a live data protocol that connects ShipBob directly to your AI tools, this summer’s feature launches are only possible because ShipBob owns every layer of its technology.

Let’s dive deep into ShipBob’s AI releases and what they mean for your business.

AI at the foundation of ShipBob

Most fulfillment providers talk about AI. ShipBob builds with it.

ShipBob’s technology stack is built entirely in-house by more than 300 engineers, spanning:

    1. A global fulfillment network with dozens of warehouses
    2. Our proprietary warehouse management system (WMS)
    3. Fulfillment and transport engines
    4. Merchant-facing dashboards and APIs

Owning the full stack allows ShipBob to ship features that software-only platforms simply can’t build. When you want AI to analyze your inventory, reroute an order, or trigger a warehouse workflow, ShipBob’s systems are already connected end-to-end. No middleware. No lag. No limitations.

“The companies that win in this AI-native world will not be the ones with the best AI press release. They will be the ones with the strongest suite of APIs, the cleanest operational data, and the deepest action layer underpinning all of it.”

    Dhruv Saxena, CEO

That action layer is exactly what’s launching this summer.

👋 Bobby: An AI agent that acts

Bobby is ShipBob’s AI agent, built directly into the merchant dashboard. Unlike AI tools that surface insights but leave execution to you, Bobby takes action on your behalf.

Ask Bobby to edit an order, resolve an exception, or build a warehouse receiving order, and it does it. Every action is logged with a full audit trail, and Bobby confirms before executing, so your team always has visibility and control.

“Before it performs any action, it actually asks you. Every single action performed through Bobby is logged, offering a clear record for your team.”

    Dhruv Saxena, CEO

Bobby is available now in beta directly from the ShipBob dashboard.

⚙️ Operational upgrades that you’ll feel on the floor

ShipBob’s Chief Supply Chain Officer Melissa Nick built this release around a single idea:

“At the end of the day, it only matters when you can actually feel it in your operation.”

The Summer 2026 operational updates are built around three priorities:

    1. Faster order fulfillment: Reduced cycle times, improved pick routing, and smarter carrier orchestration help you hit and shorten more delivery windows.
    2. Smarter network automation: ShipBob is deploying autonomous mobile robotics (starting in Aurora, with broader rollout in 2027). Fewer touches per order means higher throughput and fewer opportunities for error.
    3. Easier operations: New compliance tools turn complex retail SOPs into step-by-step automated guides for fulfillment associates, reducing errors and chargebacks.

🛍️ Retail and B2B: Built for compliance, ready for peak

Retail and wholesale fulfillment is one of the highest-stakes areas in the supply chain, and one of the most unforgiving during peak. ShipBob’s Summer 2026 Release invests in B2B done right, including:

    1. Advanced lot tracking and shelf-life allocation for brands in food & beverage, supplements, and beauty industries
    2. Pallet accuracy improvements across the network
    3. Automated compliance guides that make it easier to follow each retailer’s unique SOPs

These updates are designed to keep that gap wide, and protect your brand’s retail relationships.

✅ TrackBob and ShipBob Promise: Own the shopper experience

ShipBob Promise displays a specific, guaranteed delivery date at checkout. The algorithm is trained on hundreds of millions of ShipBob shipments, and delivery dates are updated in real time based on carrier performance, facility cut-off times, and network conditions.

TrackBob lets merchants customize their order tracking page with their own branding, URLs, and promotions, turning one of ecommerce’s most expensive support touchpoints into a revenue-generating brand lever. TrackBob is now generally available.

    ShipBob Summer 2026 Release FAQs

Here are answers to some of the top questions merchants have about ShipBob’s Summer 2026 Release.

    What is ShipBob’s MCP server?

ShipBob’s MCP (Model Context Protocol) server is an open connection layer that gives AI tools direct, read-and-write access to your fulfillment data. Unlike most fulfillment integrations that only let you pull information, ShipBob MCP lets your tools both retrieve and act on orders, inventory, and shipments in a single step (for example, pulling up an exception order and rerouting it without switching tabs).

What is Bobby, ShipBob’s AI agent?

Bobby is ShipBob’s embedded AI agent, built directly into the ShipBob merchant dashboard. It lets you manage your fulfillment operation using plain-language requests.

You can ask Bobby questions, and it reads your live operational data, then carries out the work: reshipping orders, creating warehouse receiving orders (WROs), updating inventory records, and more. It confirms every change before executing and logs each action so nothing happens without your knowledge.

    Is Bobby available now?

Bobby is currently in beta, and the waitlist is open. Merchants can join the waitlist directly from the ShipBob dashboard at web.shipbob.com. ShipBob has indicated that Bobby and additional AI capabilities will continue shipping throughout 2026.

    What is the ShipBob Promise?

The ShipBob Promise refers to the delivery promise ShipBob sets at checkout on behalf of its merchants. ShipBob’s Promise Engine is a component of the broader Fulfillment Engine, one of the two core AI engines that run across the ShipBob platform.

The Promise Engine uses real-time data — inventory positions, carrier performance, warehouse capacity, and network conditions — to calculate delivery dates that your operation can actually keep. It works alongside AI-driven inventory placement, order routing, carrier selection, and packaging optimization to ensure that the date shown to your customer at checkout is one ShipBob can reliably hit.

    What is TrackBob?

TrackBob is ShipBob’s branded post-purchase tracking experience. It provides customers with a branded, merchant-customized tracking page that replaces generic carrier tracking links. The goal is to keep the post-purchase experience on-brand, reduce WISMO support tickets, and give customers a tracking touchpoint they actually open and engage with.
