4 abducted Chinese nationals rescued in Islamabad – Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The capital police recovered four Chinese nationals kidnapped for ransom after an encounter with a gang of criminals.

Earlier, the suspect was arrested in connection with a case registered at Shalimar Police Station and was being interrogated by the robbery and dacoity unit of the capital police.

During interrogation, the suspect disclosed that he, along with his accomplices, kidnapped the four Chinese nationals from F-10/4 for ransom. After the kidnapping, the victims were shifted to Bangial area and detained at a dairy farm. The suspect further disclosed that bargaining was in progress over the ransom for the release of the Chinese nationals. The suspect also offered assistance in taking the police to the farm.

A police team was constituted for the raid, and after reaching the area, the team cordoned off the farm. However, the suspect present inside the farm started indiscriminate firing at the police team, and as a result, panic spread in the area.

The police also retaliated and fired. Later, the police succeeded in capturing two kidnappers who were guarding the captives, detained in an adjacent room of the farm. The police found the four Chinese nationals in the room and took them into their safe custody.

Later, the raiding team arrested four more kidnappers and recovered weapons from them. However, the ringleader of the gang managed to escape from the spot.
