Cap-Haitien : Celebration of the 78th anniversary of the Grand Orchestre Septentrional

The City of Cap-Haitien paid a vibrant tribute to the Grand Orchestre Septentrional, celebrating its 78th anniversary, with a grand concert held in Place Notre-Dame on 18th Street.

During the concert, Michel Saint-Croix, President of the Municipal Commission (Mayor) of Cap-Haïtien, praised the orchestra’s longevity and its exceptional contribution to the preservation and promotion of Haitian musical heritage.

This celebration was further enhanced by the presence of the renowned writer Dany Laferrière, whose participation added a symbolic and cultural dimension to this tribute to one of the oldest musical ensembles in the Caribbean.

The Municipal Commission reiterates its congratulations to the Grand Orchestre Septentrional and wishes it continued success in its mission of transmitting, creating, and promoting the richness of Haitian music for many years to come.
